Today is check out day at the Hale Koa Hotel in Waikiki…its a sad day. BUT its also an exciting day because we are packing up the jeep and driving out to Ko’olina and checking IN to Aulani! We have wanted to go here for YEARS! Its finally time! First we need to swing by Leonards malasada truck on the way and pick up our hot breakfast. We got a six pack of delicious Portuguese donuts. We arrived at Aulani pretty early in the day. Check in time is typically at 4pm but they allowed us to process in the system at 9am so that we could enjoy the amenities at the resort. That means EXTRA time exploring the property, shopping and swimming! This is such a wonderful thing they allow because its essentially another day here that we get to enjoy the magic! We started off trying our malasadas while enjoying the view from the lobby atrium. Its a windy day and just made the whole vibe perfect. After that we took a leisurely stroll through both gift shops and made a long list of the things we want to buy. For way-finding purposes we wandered around downstairs trying to get a better understanding of the map. Since we were passing by we grabbed a drink at the Olelo Room…I had a FANTASTIC mai tai (off the menu) from the bartender. He was great btw! We took our drinks by the pools and down to the beach to have a look around. By this time our room was ready so we headed up to the 4th floor!
